3 Things Your Voice Tells the World About You

When Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote that “the human voice is the organ of the soul,” he didn't have the good fortune of scientific studies on which to draw. Yet more than 100 years after his death, research supports his statement. Our voice can communicate much more than spoken words — it can convey emotion, physical attractiveness, and even personality traits. It can also impart other kinds of information outside of our conscious awareness.

HUSTLERS QUOTE

1. You gotta run more than your mouth to escape the treadmill of mediocrity. A true hustler jogs during the day, and sleepwalks at night.

ASH WEDNESDAY

Ash Wednesday , a day of fasting, is the first day of Lent in Western Christianity. It occurs 46 days (40 fasting days, if the 6 Sundays, which are not days of fast, are excluded) before Easter and can fall as early as 4 February or as late as 10 March. Ash Wednesday is observed by many Western Christians, including Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians, and Roman Catholics

Falling Back in Love

Is it possible to fall back in love with a mate who has become unexciting?  This is a question I am asked with some frequency and  the answer I usually give is “it could be.”
When longtime partners succumb to the humdrums, (you know, “there’s no magic anymore”) they sometime wind up in the office of a marriage counselor looking for a fix. I’m sorry to tell those hoping for instant gratification that if there is a fix, it must come from inside the person who is asking and may involve some effort.

5 Ways to Grow Your Charisma

Exude confidence, yes, but never forget how much other people matter.

We all know what “charisma” looks and feels like when someone who possesses this quality is in the room. Our senses are able to detect the signals and the energy radiated by a charismatic individual, and this person seems to naturally draw our attention and interest. The word charismatraces its origin to Greek and means “gift” or “grace.” When we are around individuals with this quality, we feel inspired, trusting, and supportive of their missions.

How to Finally Change Your Life

When the time comes to make a life change, whether changing your look, your job, or your relationships, your emotions will either sabotage or support your desires.

There are many fears that can hold you back – fear of failure, fear of disappointing people whose approval you want, fear of looking stupid, fear of regret. They nudge you into coming up with good reasons for staying in a joyless, boring, or dead-end situation. Regardless of your particular worries, you can use other emotions to counteract the impact of fear and move forward even if only one step at a time.

Why You Trust Your Friends Even When They're Ripping You Off

The trust signal is strong in the human brain and sometimes that's our undoing

Your brain wants to trust. We’re wired for social connection—not just casual meet and greets, but genuine connection—and trust is what makes it work. Without taking a leap of faith and trusting at least one other person at a deep enough level, life takes on a reverberating hollowness.

The Purpose of Worry and How to Manage it

Everyone feels anxiety. This is a normal human condition. It is what we feel in response to ambiguity. When you do not know what is going on, when you do not know what to do about what is going on or when you do not know what may happen next, you feel anxiety.
So what do you do when you feel that sensation? You try to get rid of it. Anxiety is an unpleasant sensation with physical components such as butterflies in the stomach, mostly felt like nausea, shortness of breath, jitteriness, or just plain old uptightness.
